Answers to some of your frequently asked questions

  • "Can we bring our own trainer to Gainfield?"

We try to provide for our Clients a cross section of experienced trainers in various fields  that we respect professionally. However everyone has their own opinions and enjoys different styles of teaching. It would therefore be impractical to have an open door policy and to allow unmonitored access to Trainers here.

We therefore only allow outside Trainers invited by the Management  to train at Gainfield. We are always open to new ideas with regard to improving these services.

"Do you allow dogs on the yard? "

Most of our Clients own dogs and if everyone of them were to bring their dogs to the yard it would prove to be chaotic if not dangerous.Sensible dog management however ie walking the dogs on leads around our show jump field is happily accepted. This enables the time conscious to exercise their dogs safely - well away from the horses.

    Do you teach groups?

I prefer to start a new client on a one to one basis in order to have the time to discuss training principles and clarify points that might be lost in a group situation.

From then on Group sessions are postively encouraged from the fun element and the benefit of seeing, as well as feeling points being made.

Do I need a Warmblood to take my training seriously ?

A huge amount of gained knowledge and subsequent  pleasure can be had from the developmentof any horse and rider if they are commited to that goal . We enjoy training any sort of combination here. We have Fell  and Highland ponies , Cleveland bay crosses, Irish and of course Dutch and Danish warmbloods!
